Okay, so you are sick of your job, you are dying for a job, you want a career change, you want to upgrade to full time or downgrade to part time…whatever the reason, you have entered the ZONE. The job market ZONE.
Welcome to 2014 and congratulations on setting a new goal of changing your employment. Here are some strategies to help you get started:
1. Update your resume.
2. Clean up your social media. Yes, you read it right. Your social media can be your best ally or your worst enemy when it comes to getting a job.
- Twitter: Have you checked your Twitter account lately? How many followers do you have? Are they quality or quantity? Both are important, but quality rules, of course. Follow some of the best employment bloggers: http://hiring.monster.com/hr/hr-best-practices/recruiting-hiring-advice/strategic-workforce-planning/top-employment-bloggers.aspx
- Facebook: Are your pictures too “dicey”? Too many bathing suit shots or party shots? If so, get rid of them. Keep them on your computer but get them off Facebook if you are serious about being taken seriously.
- Instagram, Vines, etc.: Clean it up. Do it now!
3. Use your social media: You built it up, now use it to help you find a job. Make sure you DON’T sound desperate! Just put it out there gently. Here are some great tips: http://money.usnews.com/money/careers/slideshows/10-smart-ways-to-use-social-media-in-your-job-search
4. Subscribe to best job websites: http://jobsearch.about.com/od/rca/tp/best-job-sites-2013.htm

6. Update your wardrobe. Forget that 10-year old dusty suit. Toss it if you can and buy a new one (doesn’t have to be expensive, just needs to fit you properly and look “modern”). http://money.usnews.com/money/careers/slideshows/10-wardrobe-musts-for-your-next-interview
If you get started on this list, you should be well on your way to getting the job you need… or at least organized enough to seek it properly. You’ve made up your mind, now GET IT!
Remember to Buy your Blox. Keep it near you. And read it all the time like this:
”When I am Hired, I have Security, Benefits, Income, and a Workplace!”
If you see it and read it, you will believe it and become it!!!
Stay Tuned!
